Colderrian GrandPrix [CGPX]

Starts 1st August, ends 30th September.

Way back, over 500 hundred years ago, first king of Colderra, great Nikajrus Sius, held for sport dangerous races over the boglands in southern Colderra. For many generations this sport was kept and held every year. Until last member of royal lineage family died roughly 300 years ago. That was time when lesser man held Colderrian crown. The holderrs were deputy kings of house of Dastyr. They didn't care for traditional sport, and thus the races were forgotten. Until house of Falstirs took the throne 200 years ago. First Falstir king, Gale I. decided to held races again.
And here we are now, in year 640/3 (lol give or take) when king Mikelon I. Falstir is trying not just held the traditional races, but also compete in them himself and innovate activities, inviting foreign racers and trying to win competition of populatiry with Amerathian mile run, which is also popular racing competition, currently the most famous on Coldaira, but king Mikelon doesn't approve it, becasue it is for horses only. Aren't we bit salty, your majesty? That we cannot compete with our beloved cat? Hm?

Event location detail. Surrounding and common weather are heavily inspired by scottish bogland.

Event will be judged after it's end, based on judging core, and possible additions described in relevant activity.  All event entries must be posted on deviantArt in this folder, OR sent as links (or images) to email wocherald@gmail.com.

SURROUNDINGS DESCRIBTION

🌑️Climate: In this time of year, which is autumn, it is still fairly warm. You can very much inspire by Scottish highalnd (the flat parts) and it's weather. Temperatures go from 5°C at night to highest of 30°C. Hovewer the humidity is outrageous. You can pretty much bet, that every day it is going to rain atleast for a while. Also it can get fairly windy.

If you came here to see the nature, you might be dissapointed. There is nature yes, but landscape is generally flat, with not many trees, as you find yourself in marshes. Zoltar area itself is on different soil base, so it actually doesn't have a bog problem. But get 50m out of the main area and you can get very quickly knee deep in marsh. On one side you can see mountains towering in distance and when visibility is really good, you can see even village Boros further south in front of the mountains. The village is not that small, and it's dominant is ferionistic church (imagine normal gothic church, but with no cross or catholic saints).
Zoltar buildings, despite CGPX being kinda famous, are very rural, made mainly out of stone. The layout of building's isnt't really important, so you can arrange them in a way that suits you. There is one very large house though, that serves as hotel for nobility. Regular pariticipans usually sleep in smaller huts in groups of 4-6 people.
There's a lot of paddocks for various animals, a blacksmith and veterinarian, avaliable at any time. There's also guards on the property though. They wear blue and green uniforms.

TRACK ANATOMY
Sands: Starting with large stone arch, this is very beggining of the track. It has sandy surface that doesn't retain water so well, so it usually isn't as wet as rest of the track. Due absence of obstacles and very slowly descending nature, this is perfect part of track to speed up and take the lead before real fun beggins. For pentatlon there's the climbing checkpoint with bags, that each racer needs to obtain.
Tunnel: Tunnel is completly made out of stone with bits of sand or perhaps dirt on the ground. Dominating features are the waterfall and stairs. Part before waterfall is lit only from tunnel entrance, rest of tunnel is lit by torches.
🐸Mudland: This is the part when it gets really nasty. Stsrting with deep water trench that has to be swimmed (unless you ride nagian), it continues with steep slippery slope up. While part of the track retains water very well and almost never dries out. There's checkpoint for pentatlon sharpshooting. Last part of the track is watterlogged bogland, that will ensure everyone will be muddy everywhere.
🌼Grassland: Starting with steep dirt slope up, this is final straight of the race. Cowered by grass, that is usually shortly cut and messed up by hooves and paws that run through it.

JUMPABLE OBSTACLES
General idea, the obstacles can be modified to fit your picture, but keep their general describtion and medieval fantasy setting.
a. One bar low jump: 1m tall, one stripped bar.
b. Two bar high jump: 1.3m tall, two stripped bars.
c. Taxis jump: Jump through 1.6m tall hedge. Water on the other side is 3m long, and it goes up in slow slope from depth of 1m.
d. Wall waterfall: Waterfall isn't very strong, but it gets hard to see through. Wall made of stone and 0.8m tall.
e. Log: Fallen thick log, of diameter ranging from 0.5-1m.

PENTATLON CHECKPOINTS
  1. Starting arch: Three large stones formed into arch. They are well covered by moss and lichen. The whole arch is roughly 4.5m tall and very wide. It can fit 12 riders side to side.
  2. Climbing: Wooden construction with ladder and ropes. You can either use your mount to climb up (for example mountain cats, geckos) or you have to get dismount and climb up. The climb is two meters up to the colored sacks filled with sand. You have to keep the bag till end of the race.
  3. Stairs: Wide stone stairs, that you have to overcome. It's three steps up and three steps down. Each step is 0.5m tall. They might get slippery.
  4. Swimming pond: Has sharp step down on beggining so you have to jump. Depth of the pond is 2m and pool is 6-7m long. Width is rougly 5m. Bottom of pond is covered by mud, so water gets murky quickly.
  5. Sharpshooting: Multiple poles, if different heights. There are targets filled by straw or wooden. You have to shoot them while mounted and in motion, so you don't loose speed.
NIGHT TRACK
For night races is track made to be creepy and test general courage of you and your animal. It gets hard to see, as only parts that are lit are actually starting arch and tunnel, hovewer racers are allowed to have their own light sources. There's jumpscares and creepiness awaiting on every part of track. Torches in tunnel can have different that fire colors to enhance the mood.
