📜 HISTORY
When quarthug dwarves arrived to the Kröh (which was definitely not where they were heading) they brought chaimoi kelephan ponies with them. Quarthugs were heading for colder parts of Kelepha, which thankfully made them prepared for quite cold weather. Naturally even the ponies they've picked were the most suited ones for excessive cold.
It didn't help. From 100 ponies only stallions survived first rough months. There was 19 individual stallions not connected in known family tree to each other. For quarthug it was very sad news, since they were planning on breeding more ponies as they would be building civilization in this new strange land.
Then wild baltira nagians were found on first voyages around Kröh. And spark of hope ignited. Certain individual decided to start breeding program of chaimoi stallions and baltaran mares. He was looking for smaller size unicorns with smaller horns and least pronounced fins and tail.
Usable results came immediately as even first generation of crossbreeds was fertile and could reproduce.
Steady gene line was formed in roughly 150 years of breeding, but further tweaking and reforming was still required. With later addition of more pony genes were breeders selectively getting rid of rest of baltira traits such as remains of fins, shortening on horn and fascination by water.
By this time northern elves started to communicate with drawers way more and started to form alliance. Elves were fascinated by dwarven mounts and joined breeding program. Named horses dörea (meaning 'by earth and sea') and added final touches, such as reforming of body build to be swift and elegant and infusing döreans with amerite surges as part of diet in coldest and most poor winters.

🏡 DOMESTIC BEHAVIOR
Döreans are elegant in both movement and manner. They are not interested in mud rolling, however they will roll in snow. They do not exactly like water or rain or overall wet environment. Their homeland is freezing dry. They do not enjoy too hot weather but they don't mind bright sun and lots of light.
Mares and stallions are usually kept in separated paddocks. At spring, when temperatures are higher are breedable mares selected to special paddock. Chosen breed stallion is let into the mare paddock for mating.

🛖 STABLE REQUIREMENTS
Can be in outside paddock all year long. During summer in warmer climatic condition they would require shade to hide. Same in rainy weather, but it's not mandatory. They will be just super grumpy and annoyed if wet.
If there's no snow to roll in, dry sand will do the same job.

TRIVIA

  • Dörea comes from breed of Unitavrus, which had separated line created by EsaArts specifically for WoC in 2016.
  • In beginning of 2021 were northern unitavrus completely overhauled and rights to the breed were transferred to Brissinge, who renamed breed to dörea to distinct from unitavrus.
