WILD BEHAVIOR [click me]
Horses are sociable creatures. They stick in herds. Herd consists of separated smaller bands sharing one territory, size of band ranges of 2-25 individuals, mostly mares and their offsprings. There are 1-5 stallions. Each band has its own lead stallion as only stallion present in band. Stallion watches over his band, preventing predator attacks and incoming males intending to mate with his mares.
Stallions challenge each other to establish dominance.
Horses spend most of day by grazing or traveling long distances in between grazing spots. In herd hierarchy determines who eats and drinks first. It might occur that horses of lowest rank don't get to eat at all.
Horses decide whether to run from danger or use nature for to cover. If there's enemy in inevitable proximity, horses will run. If they smell or see enemy from a distance, they will from herd camouflage, which makes them basically invisible, as it eliminates even smells. If predator gets too close to herd while camouflaged, some stallions us element of surprise to attack or chase it away, since foals yet don't know how to fully use natural form and might be vulnerable. Horses can sleep standing or laying down, their nature forms are activated while sleeping and instinct of a herd is to sleep close to each other, some standing some laying. This mass behavior makes them even less visible.

DOMESTIC BEHAVIOR [click me]
Stays the same as in wild. Stallions need of dominancy prevails, and often is required to separate stallions and geldings from mares or other stallions. However healthy herd can benefit from presence of strong adult mare.
As there's not immediate need to use natural form, some horses are slower in learning how to use it. Some horses in domesticity never reveal nature form.

STABLE REQUIREMENTS [click me]
Big enough stall to fit size of a horse. Stall needs to be well ventilated and drained. It's good to keep windows to provide natural lighting and even some opening, so horse can look outside. Paddock needs to be positioned in safe terrain so horses cannot hurt themself. Water or trees can be present, but there should be enough grass so horses can graze. Paddock shouldn’t be swampy.

TRIVIA

  • Most krofis can change coats according to seasons
  • You can harvest herbs from your horse, but they shouldn't be pulled out with roots (as roots are usually rooted in the horse)
  • You can polish stone parts of mountain horse’s nature form, just don't go too deep
  • There are no 'regular' real world horses in World of Colderra universe, so Krofis take their place
  • Did you know that partial reason for creation of krofi horses were Farrosian horses with their fire form and idea of two-coated creature?
  • Originally, they were called "forest horse" in global, but it got confusing with creation of desert, mountain and grass breeds
