Breeding

Old breeding rules are INVALID since 1st February 2021

Art done by players: Memuii,Brissinge, Annie-art and Irsibil

Breeding means creating picture allowing you to create offspring of depicted pair. But beware, maybe unlike to other ARPGs, in WoC mounts do not have their own breeding slots. Number of breeding slots is bound to you as a player. You begin the game with two available normal breeding slots, that you can use on whichever mounts you please. You can gain more slots by gaining prestige, completing quests or buying them with in-game currency (rits). It is possible to get temporarily out of breeding slots, but you can regain them by playing with mounts you have.
Normal breeding slot: Procreates one offering.
Twin breeding slot: Gives possibility to procreate one or more offsprings. You don't need two twin breeding slots. Combination of twin and normal is enough. Each species has determined percentage of success, that you can roll. If the roll is failed, there will be only one offspring.
Rolls to regain normal breeding slots: Since prestige 5+ you can perform once a month roll on discord. The roll is done on 1D100. On success, you will regain one of your used normal breeding slots. Higher prestige increases your chances to regain slot.

For successful breeding and fully healthy adult offspring you need:
1. Two breeding slots.
2. Fertile male and female of same species.
3. Breeding picture of parents.
4. Roll for anomalies.
4. Full body picture of born offspring (can serve as it's new reference picture
5. Extra picture described in concrete species information journal.

BREEDING CONDITIONS

  • You need two breeding slots to procreate one offspring. It does not matter who will provide the breeding slots, but please mention slot providers in picture descriptions.
  • Owners of mounts used for breeding must agree with it.
  • If breeding WoC species, it needs to be REGISTERED (this means that mount has either reference image or reference sheet).
  • Crossbreeding is allowed within a species. (Equines with equines, bears with bears, dragons with dragons etc.)
  • Inbreeding is forbidden! Mounts count as relatives till 5th generation.
  • Upload offspring design (with link to parents and breeding picture) after your breeding and design was approved by admin.
  • For proper growth you must draw ATLEAST one of extra pictures described in information specific for each species.

ANNOUNCING BREEDING

Without letting admins know, your breeding is not valid and you are not allowed to release the offspring design until the admins have approved it.
Send group note, message on Discord or email, containing this info:
  • Species you want to breed:
  • Link to mother and her level:
  • Link to father and his level:
  • Link to the breeding picture:
  • Link to unpublished offspring design/ request for offspring design (if you request admins to create the design):
  • Any anomalies?
  • OPTIONAL: Rest of offsprings lineage to explain design feature that parents do not have.
  • OPTIONAL: Roll for new feature: Yes/No
  • OPTIONAL: Percentage of genes from each parent or ancestor (useful for setting stats of crossbreeds).

OFFSPRING'S BIO

Aka what will offspring inherit and gain by possible anomalies.

A. BIRTH ANOMALY
A bit like perks or transmogs, but you have no control over them. They might just happen. Those who bred mounts before you were even born, might use organic magic to tweak around, and honestly nobody knows, how safe or unsafe it is. You never know, what could go wrong. But luckily, anomalies, same as perks or transmogs, aren't heritable. Before designing offspring, roll 3d100 to see, whether any anomaly will be present. There can be multiple anomalies, if you are really (un)lucky. If number you rolled isn't mentioned in list below, there's no anomaly bound to it.

1 - Ability increase.  Roll 1D6 (1-strength, 2-speed, 3-obedience, 4-resistance 5-water agility 6-courage). Ability you rolled will have permanent increase by 1D4.
5 - Anomaly magnet. When breeding this mount, add one dice to anomaly roll. If both parents have this anomaly, add two dice.
11 - Unsure performance. When using this mount on events, 1D10 will be rolled for it. If 1-5 it has -10 CP in that event. If rolled 6-10 it has +10CP in that event.
23 - Dwarfism. Mount has only 50% of size it would inherit.
31 - Gigantism. Mount grows 50% bigger, than size it would inherit.
36 - Inherit perk. Roll 1D8. Number you rolled will represent required level of perk. When your mount reaches that level, it will get all perks of that required level, that any ancestor with official import has. If there is no ancestors with official import besides parents, you will be rolling 4D100 for perks that were in offspring’s ancestry.
42 - Floral. Floral growths on 1d6x10% of the body.
72 - Six eyes. This mount has three pairs of eyes, each pair has different color.
85 - Quick growth. This mount doesn't require extra picture to properly grow.
93 - Wired. This mount has odd cyborg like features.
97 - Different. This mount's coat must not contain any features, that parents have.
100 - Anomaly protection. When breeding this mount, remove one dice from anomaly roll. If both parents have this anomaly, remove two dice.

B. DESIGN
It will be combined from design of parents. You can choose which features you want to include and which ones you wish to leave out, but it should be visibly tellable, who are offspring's partners.
But! You can choose to bring one feature, that any of its ancestors ever had. If your offspring's first in its lineage or has no more that first grandparents, you can roll to get one new feature. Roll is 50+ for common feature and 95+ for rare feature.

C. LEVEL
Yes. The offspring will inherit level. Not fully, but definitely a part of it. The equation is average of father + mother divided by two (rounded up). Counted of course at the moment of breeding. Any level of parents gained later do not count.
For example: Father is level 2, mother is level 8. 8+2 = 10, averaged to 5. 5÷2= 2.5 rounded up to 3. Offspring will start on lowest mp score to level 3. that is 131.

D. ABILITY STATS
Check ability stats to see what parents have. Offspring will inherit in.
Purebred breeding
example: Malacos with Malacos
  •  Offsprings ability stats will be identical with parents

Cross-subspecies and crossbreed breeding
example: Malacos with Carcharos
example: Nagian with Krofi horse
  • Offsprings ability stats will be averaged from both parents amounts for each ability.
  • If more than 2 breeds or lines is present, offspring will be averaged from all breeds/lines for each ability.
  • OPTIONAL: If you want to use percentage of genes (example: 40% desert krofi horse/50% malacos nagian/10% unitavrus) there's no problem. We have systems how to count it based on percentage.

MISCELANEOUS INFO

  • There's no explicit 'gene system', but respect visual features represented in parents or lineage and abilities of each species (especially in crossbreeds).
  • If you want to add some feature parents don't have, it's possible as long as it's within rules of breed. But you MUST explain it via offsprings lineage or roll.
  • It is possible to geld a mount. Gelding will lose ability to breed, but gain ability stat of obedience +5 (non heritable).
  • For crossbreeds worry not about using non Colderrian species. Farrosians share same ability stat system, BUGHS-22 provided us with ability stats for Ziquans, Quiangs and Florequinners, Lunameyza provided us with ability stats for Lisqars. For rest of breeds/species (mostly equine at the moment) we created common stats separately for baroques, showjumping warmbloods, race warmbloods, drafts, arabians, quarters, shetland ponies, ponies, fjords, cobs, trotters, pegases and donkeys. In case of need we can create same even for non equine species.
